Our full disc brake conversion has been designed and developed specifically for the Land Rover 101 Forward Control. After years of fitting and refining these conversions, we’ve produced a system that dramatically improves braking performance while using readily available service components.

Whether you use your 101 for road driving, long-distance touring, towing or military vehicle events, this conversion transforms the way the vehicle drives and inspires far more confidence in modern traffic.

Why convert to disc brakes?

The original drum brakes were designed for military use over 50 years ago. Although they work well when correctly adjusted, they require regular maintenance and don’t offer the consistency or stopping performance expected on today’s roads.

Unlike many conversion kits, this system has been designed, developed and fitted by people who work on Land Rover 101s every day.

Kit contents

The kit includes:

• Front and rear solid brake discs.
• Front and rear callipers.
• Caliper mounting brackets.
• Brake servo.
• Brake master cylinder.
• Master cylinder conversion plate.
• Brake pads.
• Pad fitting kits.
• Full set of hub seals.
• Lock tab washers.
• Wheel studs.
• Mounting bolts and fittings.

You’ll also receive all the fittings required to manufacture new brake pipes, although the brake pipes themselves will need to be made to suit your vehicle. We can make these up if required and also sell a kit of flexible stainless steel/PTFE brake lines so no line need to be made up by yourself.

The conversion is designed to fit beneath standard 101 wheel rims. If your vehicle has different wheels fitted, please contact us before ordering as different spacers may be required.
